Early Online Publication Policy

Business Insight and Strategic Management Journal publishes accepted articles online as soon as they are fully edited and typeset, even if they have not yet been assigned to a specific issue. The date an article first appears online is considered its official publication date and is shown in the PDF as “Published online: [date].” When the article is later published in a regular issue—such as Volume X, Issue Y (April 2026)—the issue information will be added, but the official publication date remains unchanged. Early online publication allows readers and researchers to access and cite the article sooner, since the DOI becomes active immediately. After an article is published as the Version of Record, any changes can only be made through a formal corrigendum or erratum. For example, if an article is published online on December 1, 2025, but appears in the April 2026 issue, the PDF will still show “Published online: December 1, 2025” as the official publication date.
